What time is the last admission?

The last timed slot is at 16:30 on standard days and 19:30 on Friday late-night openings. Galleries close at 18:00 (or 21:00 on Fridays).

Does every Friday have the late-night opening?

Most Fridays do, but the schedule varies by season and the late opening pauses around major holidays. Check the official calendar before booking a Friday-evening slot.

Is the museum open on King's Day?

Yes, on 27 April with standard 09:00–18:00 hours. Trams may be diverted because of the city-wide celebrations — walk in from Centraal Station or Amsterdam Zuid.

What about Christmas and New Year's Day?

Open with standard hours on 25 and 26 December and 1 January. These are some of the busiest days of the year — book at least a week in advance.

Can I visit the shop without a museum ticket?

Yes — the Museum Shop has a separate entrance on Paulus Potterstraat that does not require a museum ticket. Same hours as the galleries (09:00–18:00).

How long can I stay inside once I've entered?

As long as you like up to closing time. The timed slot only governs when you can enter, not how long you can stay.
